Raymond, a 33-year-old lawyer, embarked on a transformative journey with Embody. Despite maintaining a relatively active lifestyle by playing paddle and football, Raymond's inconsistent diet and lack of tailored exercise routines led to physical discomfort, particularly tendinitis in his left foot. This pain became a significant motivator for seeking professional help.
"My diet was quite inconsistent. I was eating too late and probably wasn't having sufficient macros," Raymond shared. His active lifestyle, centered around paddle and football, was no longer sustainable due to the increasing pain. "If anybody's ever played paddle or tennis before, they know it involves lots of lateral movements, squatting, and getting low. It was becoming more difficult to do those things."
The turning point came when Raymond realized he needed a structured, professional approach to fitness to continue enjoying the sports he loved. "I play paddle with a guy who's 60, and I thought to myself, I want to be able to play paddle when I'm 60," he recalled. This realization led him to Embody.
Raymond's initial foray into structured workouts began during the 2020 lockdown, with YouTube workouts. While helpful, these workouts lacked the tailored approach he needed. "It was all a bit random," he admitted. "Coming to Embody meant knowing what I was doing for the week, and it was very structured." The results were significant, "Now, I am more powerful and haven't gotten injured in four months".
"But one of the underrated benefits is the mental well-being. I find myself in a much better mood and more motivated to do the things I need to do. I'm more willing to take on the day and just be myself."
Raymond attributes much of his success to his trainer, Coach Robbie. "Robbie is exceptional. He's very friendly, knowledgeable, and keeps me honest. One of my favorite things about Robbie is that we're friends. I love the fact that I can be friends with someone who's going to tell me, 'Raymond, don't slack. Maintain your tempo and form".
Under Robbie's guidance, Raymond achieved remarkable physical transformations.
"When I came in, I was 94 kilos, and now I'm 87 kilos. I've put on about two or three kilograms of muscle and brought my body fat percentage down from 19% to about 12%."
