Inside Embody's Wellness Week 2026 Activation with WHOOP and Unilabs

If you have not come across WHOOP yet, here is the short version. It is a wearable worn around the clock that tracks recovery, sleep and strain, used by everyone from professional athletes to everyday gym goers. It does not tell you what is happening inside your body at a biological level though, which is where blood testing comes in.
That gap is exactly what this year's Wellness Week activation set out to close. From June 8 to 14, ICD Brookfield Place in DIFC hosted its fourth annual Wellness Week, with the main event unfolding over a weekend festival on June 13 and 14. The full lineup covered fitness classes, recovery treatments and a wellness market, and the official Wellness Week programme at ICD Brookfield Place included a new addition this year: Embody Fitness partnering with WHOOP and Unilabs to bring on site blood biomarker testing to its members.
WHOOP members who booked in received a private blood test, with results processed as a personalised 65 biomarker panel by Unilabs. That is a significant step beyond the strain and recovery scores most WHOOP users already see daily.
After the blood draw, members could round out the session with a premium recovery experience, including a session in the infrared sauna followed by an ice bath. Results were then uploaded directly into the WHOOP app, sitting alongside each member's existing sleep, strain and recovery data.

A wearable is excellent at spotting patterns. It knows when your sleep dipped, when your strain spiked, or when your recovery has been trending down for a week. What it cannot do on its own is explain why, at a biological level.
Blood biomarker testing fills that gap. It looks at what is actually happening inside the body: inflammation, hormone levels, metabolic markers, and more. Put simply, wearable data shows the pattern. Blood data shows the cause. Neither one tells the full story alone. Together, they give a far more complete picture of how someone is really recovering.
Anyone training seriously eventually hits a point where effort alone stops explaining their results. Recovery stalls. Progress slows. Energy dips for no obvious reason.
A biomarker result can often explain what daily tracking alone cannot. Fatigue that will not shift no matter how much extra sleep someone gets, for example, can sometimes trace back to a specific marker rather than a training issue. For Embody's members across its Sheikh Zayed Road and DIFC locations, this activation offered a preview of what a more complete approach to training and recovery can look like.

A few things stood out across the wider week, which Grazia Middle East also covered in its Global Wellness Day roundup:
