“I was working an office job so had a very sedentary lifestyle. Eventually my weight snowballed; I wasn’t being very active at all. It got to a point where I didn’t feel like myself anymore, I was carrying all this extra weight and everything was much harder than I remember it – I was like, “is this really me?” At that point I knew I had to do something about it. And then I found Embody. The journey at Embody felt like it was customised to me. I was paired with Joshua, my personal trainer, and from the get-go it was really easy to work with him, I felt completely at ease. He would push me and continue to motivate me at the same time which was great. The programme itself wasn’t easy, but the team made it as simple as possible. With the training, all I had to do was show up – everyone else did the rest for me. In terms of the nutrition – the whole programme was shaped around my lifestyle instead of being a short term fix – for example, they could have just given me recipes to cook but instead it was more based around portion control, so over the course of the programme it taught me how to be better with the food that I eat, and be more disciplined – and that worked really well.

In the first 3 months I lost around 20 kilos, so a lot! It’s hard to believe I was carrying all that extra weight. It’s shocking to see how much can change in such a short period of time. The main thing I say to others is that it is entirely possible to get the results that you want, there is only one thing you need to do which is show up and be consistent with the diet – the rest just follows. "After the pandemic I realised that during lockdown I had put on a lot of weight. Throughout my life I have always been skinny, and always enjoyed going to the gym and staying fit, but this 1.5 years worth of lockdown I realised that I had grown a massive belly.  

Someone in my family- for the first time in my life, pointed out that I was getting fat so I realised that now that the lockdown restrictions have been lifted I should be joining a gym.

I didn't want to go to a commercial gym, I wanted to go to a place where I had proper advice, where I would have a dedicated fitness trainer and I could get dietary related advice as well. Hence I googled it, and the first thing that came out was Embody Fitness. 

Because it was a big financial commitment I wanted to be 100% sure this was the right place for me. The beauty of Embody Fitness was that I reached out to them and I was able to schedule a session where they would give me an introduction to the gym, their facilities, and how the programme works, so that cleared all the minor doubts I had. 

In the past I have always done training which was targeted towards building muscle.  How it would work is that I would go to a personal trainer, he would give me a programme that I would follow for 3 to 4 months and I used to aim to build muscle.  However, at Embody Fitness, the programme was constantly refreshed, the trainer was with me in every session making sure my form was correct, my technique was correct, that meant better results, quicker results. 

I started noticing the results within the first 3 weeks, I noticed I had lost weight, I lost body fat. The beauty of Embody Fitness was that every 3 weeks they did checks so I was able to stay up to date with my progress. When I started I weight 80 kilos, now I weigh less that 70 kilos, so I lost 10 kilos in total and also built muscle at the same time - my body fat percentage has dropped to 12.5%

My journey has had an incredibly positive impact on my life, first of all, before I started I used to feel lazy - because I was working from home, I used to feel like sleeping during the day, just tired and not very active.  Now, I feel active, I actually feel refreshed, and because I know about nutrition now I am eating the right things so I feel healthier. I don't feel as thirsty because I am not eating as much oily food and takeaways, so it has had a positive impact and I feel more confident.

My family were shocked, they were very pleased, they actually couldn't believe it was such a simple formula, you need discipline and you need to stick to that formula, people tend to overcomplicate.  I told them about this simple formula and they were quite impressed.

“Before Embody I was a typical desk jockey and I never looked at what I was eating – I would just grab what was easy or nearby. Then, throughout the pandemic I ate a lot of takeaways… I was eating two takeaway pizzas a week at one point!

Eventually I reached a rut and wanted to change my life, so I put a google search out for body transformations/ weight loss and Embody came up as “the go-to place” so I thought I would check it out.

I’ve been to commercial gyms before and I’ve often lacked the motivation, so I was a bit hesitant at first due to the investment. I wondered if I would drop off, but then I thought, for what I want to achieve I’ll need specialist help – with a team that really knows what they’re doing, maybe they will give me the tools I need to own it. Since starting I’ve lost over 4.5 stone – and a foot around my waist! I have been following Embody on Instagram for a while and am always blown away by the client body transformations they post. Turning 40 this year was the push I needed to sort out my health and fitness and to shed the weight I had gained during lockdown and regain my confidence. I joined Embody in August this year for their 3 month body transformation. My first point of contact was David who explained the process to me and their packages. David made me feel extremely welcome with his kind and friendly manner and patiently answered all my questions.

I next met Olivia, my nutritionist. Olivia was involved on a daily basis with all my dietary concerns. She is extremely knowledgeable, friendly and easy to talk to. “When I was active it was easy for me to drink and eat what I wanted, and I would never get any heavier than about 15 stone [95kg]. When you’re 6ft 4in [1.93m] your height can hide a multitude of sins, but at 
the end of last year I was struggling to fit into anything I could buy on the peg. I had a 38in waist: I remember thinking, ‘That’s quite big’.”

“My training with Chris was intensive, tough, but good fun. I mentioned to him that parts of my body that I didn’t know existed were hurting, and I thought I was physically unable to do the things he wanted me to do, he said it’d get easier and I didn’t believe him.
But he was right. The real education for me came along with my new diet. I didn’t know the difference between protein and carbohydrate; I’d never taken much notice of what exactly it was that I was eating – or how much of it I consumed. I’d be in the studio at 5am, then I’d have a breakfast at 6.30am and maybe another one at 8.30am, and it was sausage or bacon sandwiches, tonnes of coffee… looking back it’s kind of shocking. People persuade themselves that they ‘need’ a big breakfast to start the day, but it’s just what they’ve always had. Now I have two eggs with porridge and that’s it.”

“I’m in the best shape I’ve been in for over a decade. You see it in the little things, like running upstairs: a year ago, I was carrying an extra three stone up. To start off, I have never liked gyms or ever thought of going to a gym! Last time I tried was 15 years ago and I only lasted for 2.5 weeks and was absolutely bored, no motivation and no objective whatsoever... 2020 was tough for everyone, my wife encouraged both of us to start looking for a place to change some of our habits - mainly eating and we wanted to start exercising but not in normal gyms.

We visited a couple of places and looked for transformation programs in Dubai, and to be honest the first time we stepped foot in Embody - we just got attracted and attached. Even before we met David - the ambience of the place, the amount of sunlight and the brightness of it just felt right.

David is an amazing consultant, he talks you through your objectives, priorities and what you want to achieve. And that talk just made us feel we can start right away.

At 63 years of age, Philip had recovered from a serious case of Covid-19 that forced him to reflect on his future and what he could do to provide him with the best chance to live a long and healthy life. 

Before joining Embody, Philip was doing lots of cardio and fasting regularly in an attempt to lose weight which worked up to a certain point.

I started at 104kg and 38% body fat.

I turned to Embody for the 12 week programme as my health was in a very bad state. They truly delivered! They turned my life around and I can’t see myself going to any other gym. I completed the 12 week programme and the results were amazing. I was not the same man that started. Even after the 12 weeks I decided to stay on and truly push my body to the limits.

I am currently at 80kg and 16% fat. This is still dropping. The Embody gym is very clean cut with a no bull**** approach to training. The equipment is to athletic standards and are always kept very well maintained and cleaned. I love the fact I had a whatsapp group to keep in touch at all times. The personal trainers are all friendly and have a real passion for fitness.

I joined Embody because I wanted to lose weight for my wedding. After years being unhappy with how I looked in pictures, I decided that my wedding would be finally a time where I decided to make a difference. I chose Embody fitness, because the staff were knowledgable and having had lots of clients having gone through a similar process they seemed like the experts in the field. The initial consultation was thorough asking me about every little aspect of my life, assessing me top to toe to make a tailor-made personalised programme. Charlie is an excellent PT. He worked really hard to help me achieve my goals. He pushed me during each session to my maximum limits and was constantly trying to push me to reach new goals. It’s amazing how much I progressed from the beginning in terms of what I can do with the weights. We also became great friends, and he helped open my mind to lots of new ideas. He was also always happy to be contacted so if I was having an off day, he would help me decide what to do and keep giving me little tips. He really cared.

The thing I liked most about Embody is that everyone at the gym helped me with my goal. Whenever I was in the gym, even PTs who I didn’t work with were checking in on how I was doing. It felt like a real family. As well as losing more weight than I anticipated, one of the big things I learnt from the programme is to to be open minded. I always though that those people that go to the gym regularly and eat healthy is something I could never be. In my head that just wasn’t me or my personality. However the programme showed me that as an individual you can be whoever you want to be and all you have to do is focus your mind on it. I shouldn’t shut myself off because ‘its not me’ . Also my mood was so much better, I felt a lot more happier and positive. I felt empowered to achieve my best in all aspects of my life. I am really proud of my before and after photos. Over the past few years Andrew's work and the travel that came along with it became the main priority but the impact it was having on his health was quite significant. 

He developed poor nutrition and sleep habits, picked up new injuries, and felt a lot of mental fatigue. All of this was affecting Andrew's health as well as his ability to focus and perform at the highest level as a business owner and CEO.
